Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose stories of youthful heartache earned her widespread popularity in the first decade of the 21st century. Swift began showing an desire to work in the industry as early as age. Her career progressed rapidly from children's play roles, through her first public appearance in front of a large crowd. Swift was eleven years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. Following that she started writing her own songs and began playing guitar. Inspiring herself by singers from country music like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of being a tween and feeling alienated. Swift relocated from Pennsylvania with her parents in the state of Tennessee to Hendersonville when she reached 13 and decided to spend more time to the wooing of labels of country music in Nashville.
